We took great care and effort to get our flowers from the farmer to you. Here are some care tips to keep them looking their best for as long as possible.
Unwrap or unbox flowers to remove protective wrapping. The bouquets are wrapped tightly to protect them in transit; they also have a small compostable water source to see them through the day. All of our packaging is either recyclable or compostable. Note: The buds are usually closed when you receive your flowers.
For bouquets, use a clean vase. Reduce exposure to bacteria by cleaning your vase with hot, soapy water.
Change water daily using lukewarm water to prevent bacteria growth.
Use flower food. Once arranged in a vase, flowers benefit from food added to the water to keep them vibrant. NOTE: We only provide flower food for glass vases. Flower foods reacts with metal so we don't include them with the brass or the birch vase which has a zinc liner.
Keep flowers in a cool spot away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents and ripening fruit and vegetables. Ethylene gas, emitted by ripening fruit, vegetables, and decaying plant matter can cause flowers to wilt faster.
Take care of the stems. Trim ends of each stem a small amount daily when you change the water, cut at a 45° angle with sharp scissors. Remove dead leaves and blooms to prevent bacteria from developing in the water.
